Ligni Bel Ltd. is part of Lebcorp Ltd. which is based in Montreal, Québec. Lebcorp and its predecessors have a long history in the sawmill business., dating back to 1956 when Deniso Lebel purchased his first sawmill in Squatec, Québec. Over the years the company grew to include 11 wood manufacturing facilities under the direction of Deniso Lebel and then his son Bruno Lebel. Our recent organizational restructuring, including facility upgrades, has created increased efficiencies at all levels as we strive to continually offer quality products and service to our customers.
The Ligni Bel sawmill in Scotsburn, Nova Scotia has undergone extensive modernization since 2000. It now boasts state-of-the-art sawing and drying technology, which has allowed the company to grow its production while maintaining quality and efficiency. The most recent investments include a fully optimized edger line, upgraded drying technology, installation of a second sawing line, and construction of a new planermill, which includes one of the first Grade Experts by Comact.
